Hello readers, I have been visiting Dragonfly Poems for several months now and always enjoyed reading poetry. I have written poetry for about twenty years now and always used it as a form of expression for my feelings. Here are some poem’s I have written over the years that were inspired by the feelings I have for my spouse. Love of a lifetime
When feelings grow so far within,
And swell within your heart and mind,
To seek out your desire, your only love
When I found this love my heart sang
We cherish every moment together
Decades pass time stands still
Only good remains the mistakes fade away
In each other arms with but one last breath
If there is an afterlife, I will see you soon
For there is no time worth living if it is not spent with you.

In a Moment
In a moment I knew my life would forever be altered,
In a moment I knew no more pain or strife,
In a moment I knew I would no longer be alone,
In a moment I realized there would always be two,
This was the moment I met you.

Ancient Song
Ageless gold drips down scattered clouds,
How the legacy of the ancients sang.
In scattered moments serene and calm,
The song can be heard in the wind.
The passage of time endless and sure,
The song continues when no one pays heed.

Those who are true and one together,
Can hear the song in the back of their minds.
A distant drum quaking your reality,
The song sings for those to come.

The song is of love and true passion,
The song is of powerful tune.
The song sings to lovers at the peak of their time,
The song is what binds lovers true.

Only we can hear the song, it beats within us each very day.
Only we can hear the song, it is with us when we are away.
Only we can hear the song, it fills us with love and joy.
