Fading

Published by J Scott under other

cool nights extending
farmers harvest summer’s fruit
lazy fun days end

bringing out colors
another season coming
endless summer wishes

Winter shadows dancing
in fading summer sunlight
young days, aging nights

Sweet scents fade in breeze.

Increase Your Web Presence

Published by J Scott under building links

Starting a business is hard enough work and unless you have tons of money to spend on advertising from the get go you are hitting the cyber pavement link dropping whenever you can, sponsoring prizes in contests and writing free classifieds. Here is a free way to build your web presence. And trust me the thing you really want is to be one page one of your desired field.

I have no idea where Dragonfly Poems sit for personalized poetry but I know it is not on page or two and that is bad because I anticipate the largest number of my potential costumers will be coming from one search engine or another.  When I found about the link back project, I thoght it was a good idea to get my link out there in cyberspace. And now when I have extra money I can use more targeted true advertising like blog advertising and the such. If you are interested more information check link #1

Who knows perhaps a potential customer can come off the list.

Where to Find Other Poems

Published by J Scott under other

I said when I started this I did my research well things have changed as far what other personalized poetry sites are out there. I thought maybe I would do a little Miracle on 34th Street and mention some of the competition.  I used Google and I used the word “personalized poetry” and here is what I found and I didn’t include sponsored links.

Malady’s Poetry here you can find poems, toasts. Similar to what I am offering the price can be anywhere from $12.95 to $40.99 ( this last price is a gradutation poem framed. For a gradutation poem from me it costs $15.00 with a frame). Malady’s has been in business for awhile so at the moment they have a lot more variety.

Melinda’s Personalized Poetry here Melinda offers a line of Christian gifts as well as poetry. Right now she is charging $10 for a custom poem but the only way you can get it is through email (Remember I will print it out and mail to you with out a frame for free!)

Bright Creations Here is a really that does make custom poems but they frame it and turn into a work of art. They can also take a poem you’ve written and typeset it and frame it. For speciality paper $7.99 framed $16.99 the delux is $39.99

I only wrote about the top three because when people search for things I highly doubt they go beyond the first page. My first goal other than to sell something is to be on page one. What I don’t understand are these prices. I don’t collect sales tax and I hate that $.99 that is why I have everything whole numbers, I think it makes everything easier.

Have a wonderful day!

Midnight Shadows

Published by J Scott under other

Stars apparent shining dark skies
cloaked secrets in midnight blue
mysterious shadows like venomous illusions
thick shadows folding lucid dreams
million cricket chirps, stillborn stars

the serenely silent sanctuary beckons
Succulent kisses, mysterious smudged eyes.
tangled hair entwines enfolding arms
sleepy abyss of confounding dreams

silent, unwieldy, deep shadows night

distraught nightmares child snuggly daddy
dark world disappears peaceful rest

Thank You Lucky Girl

Published by J Scott under news and sales

Someone took the plunge and asked for a poem in exchange for a little write up on their blog. I recieved the email the other day and it was a challeging request but fun because I too love peanut butter. That’s right I said peanut butter. If you are interested in reading it check out Peanut Butter.

This is a perfect example of how a poem can bring someone a smile. Poetry does not have to be stiff and rigid and deep it can be fun and light hearted as well. Poetry is anything that you want it to be and that is why a name can be a poem. There are many uses for poetry that aren’t for greeting cards.

Until next time…

Example of Finished Product Without Frame

Published by J Scott under other

Here is an example of a finished product without a frame. I have access to dozens of different font styles and I am always purchasing new computer stationary.  I try match font with stationary with poem. If you order and unframed poem it will come mailed in a large envelope to keep it as flat as possible. Any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me.

Daughter

Published by J Scott under acrostic poems, daughter poems

Day of your birth was the most wonderful day.
A sweet little angel, sleeping peacefully in my arms
Ugly is not the word to describe you. You are beautiful
Girl. And  will always be beautiful. My
Heart beats excitedly when I
Think, “I made this wonderful person”
Every day I learn something new about and happy to have that oppurtunity.I’d
Rather have in my life than none at all because no person can take the place of a daughter.

Sabrina and Matthew

Published by J Scott under personalized poetry

S ometimes we travel
A l one on this path we create.
B ut in an instant we meet someone to share the
R oad with. Someone to grow old with
I  n that moment , we look into each other’s eyes and know it is right.
N ever will we be solo
A gain because we love each other
                                                        and

M arried are we.
A lways together
T hrough those rainy Seattle nights.
T ime will age our
H ands yet they will still intertwine for
E ternity. And time
W ill age our love; making it deeper and making it stronger.
