Personalized Poems Make Great Wedding Gifts

Published by J Scott under news and sales

It is summer time and this is a huge season for weddings and perhaps you are invited to some. Don’t forget the economy is not the greatest and you are wondering what would make a heart-felt, long lasting wedding gift and that would be a personalized poem.

I strive to make each poem unique of the couple the poem is made for. I don’t charge extra for a poem with two names on them. The price is always $15. So why buy a poem instead of a blender or toaster? The answer is simple, a poem is something that is cherished and will outlast any old blender or toaster and even money. A poem that reminds the couple why they love each other is always a gift worth giving.

I wrote two poems for my friends who were married a couple of years ago. You can read Sabrina and Matthew and Jessica and Alex as samples of poems with two names.

As always I am looking forward to writing a poem of love for the couple you know or apart of.

Learn from Home, Get Further in Your Career

Published by J Scott under other

Other than being a famous writer, there is this other fantasy I think about and that is this business here growing where I have to maybe set up an actual office and hire a couple of people to work for me. I am not looking to be mogul or anything like that just enough business to work less or no hours at Wal-mart and go the beach once year for a week. Is that too much to ask.

I know I have a good idea but when I went to Penn State I majored in journalism not in business or anything to do with business. I know if I could hire someone it would be an office manager with book keeping experience because that is one thing I can’t do right now. With learn.com I can take Elearning course in business that are accredited.

Learn.com makes it easy to take course online that are worth something so you can increase your skill set while maintaining your job. It is free to register with Learn.com and there are bunch of course packages you can choose from to get a better career or advance in the one you have already. There are also free course you can take or create your own courses if you want.

The one free course I like is the stress management. Can you believe I get stressed out while I am working at Wal-Mart, it’s not all roses you know. I should learn some techniques because when I am stressed my mouth runs on auto drive and it could get me in trouble and I need my job to get my business running.

So why not check out Learn.com and better yourself and your standing in the work force.

Thoughts on Social Spark’s CPC Program

Published by J Scott under other

If you don’t already know, Social Spark dot com offers a CPC program as an alternative to sponsored posting. I tried this program and for $100 it will get me about 400 clicks (.25 per click the minimum plus an additional $10 to launch the ad). I did have some click throughs but the opp has been pulled and I plan on relaunching it in the near future but I think this time I will enlist customer love for help.

CPC stands for cost per click. How the bloggers can do this is write a blog post using their special affiliate link for the opp, talk about it on twitter or just post either a link or a picture on their blog. My goal is to have people come to here and when they are thinking of an unique gift, they will have Dragonfly Poems on the forefront of their mind. Ultimately, I would love to start generating sales. My long term goal would be to start making a residual income from writing poems.

As of right now, I didn’t have much success in making a sale from this program but there could be a variety of factors such as I didn’t know what I was doing, people are coming to the wrong page or I am not talented enough. I hope it is not the latter.

I am thinking of launching another spark and see if I can get other people’s opinion and then launching another CPC opp. I did have people come and that is good but I want people to come and buy a poem. I still think my original plan of investing money in a sponsored post will be my best bet. Not only do I plan on investing in sponsored posting but giving away the chosen bloggers a free poem so they have something tangible to write about.

The way I look it any advertising is better than no advertising at all.

Find the Professional You Need- Use Mavenlink

Published by J Scott under news and sales

I am starting a business and I am by myself (really that is how small of a business I am) so what if I need something like a new website design or lawyer or an accountant, what would I do? I wouldn’t know actually, I guess I could comb through the yellow pages or search around on the internet and hopefully find someone that is reasonable and does a good job. Or I could use Mavenlink

Unknown Mavenlink is a freelance marketplace for businesses and freelance professionals alike. What is nice about Mavenlink it is free to sign up and you can post jobs immediately, or if you are a free lancer in one field or another you can post a profile and look for projects. I browsed through the site and I found that I can easily read the details of a project and if I wanted to bid on a project, I would just sign in. Another thing I liked about the site is transparency. You can see who won a particular project and if the project was completed.

I never tried a website such as this before but I am thinking more and more about freelance writing and this just might a good place to start. I am not looking to make a ton of money but I would like to make more than $3 for 500 words which is ridiculous. If you are small business owner this is a site you should belong to because sometime you only need someone for a particular something, so why spend a ton of money on an in house person when you can find a quality person through Mavenlink.

May

Published by J Scott under acrostic poems, summer poems

may

I wanted to do something different. Normally when I post a poem it is done with the fonts on this blog and I think it detracts from the beauty of the overall poem. I made this using paint because Word Perfect doesn’t allow to me make different blocks of point size. This is also a perfect example of a short named poem. Just because a name has three letters doesn’t mean the poem has to be three lines. This poem costs $10 and you can order it here. If you want a personalized poem click here. A personalized poem costs $15.

Reflections

Remember the days when daisies
Encircled our laughter in days of sun.
Find the time to come together but days never
Last as long as we want them too.
Eaves collapse on memories we hold dear. When
Children cry, we will we remember our own
Time of carelessness and freedom?
Invitations from courtesy but the same excuse is used.
Once we are old and memories are all that we have, the
Nearby chasm awaits for our return, to find ourselves
Sipping from coconuts, laughing from above at those who never knew us.

This poem costs $10 and you can order it here
