Today we celebrate our
Harvest of crops and friendship,
As we set the table and place linen
Napkins; generations come together and memories
Kept for years join the memories created today.
Squash, turkey, sweet potatoes and
Grandma’s pumpkin pie
Intermingle with the
Voluptuous mounds of mashed potatoes and gravy.
In this hour we are forever children
Never letting life get us down when we are
Giving thanks for everything that is good.

I just realized I have not posted here in over two weeks and shame on me for not being so vigilant. I always tell myself if I want to succeed at something, I have to work at it, to make it work for me. Shame on me for not spending time on my dream. Shame on me for not writing a poem a week or something at least.
I just can’t believe how many people still want to advertise on this blog through entrecard even when I don’t post. It is totally amazing.
I requested six days off my day job and if approved I plan on spending many hours on Dragonfly Poems, creating sales and I am hoping ready to advertise through Social Spark’s CPC program. I should start making a to do list and at least accomplish something for this business at least once a week.
I apologize for my absence and I hope to kick myself in the donkey and get moving because my future is in my hands. Thank you for your continued support and readership.

Austere glances from the fading sun
Underneath thick clouds of cement.
Treetops showing off their technicolor brilliance,
Until scarlet turns brown and crisp and rushes to the cold earth. The harvest
Moon watches quietly, rambling through the starlight sky waiting for warmth.
Never there is enough time to watch the leaves fall before snow buries them in memories.
To order this poem it costs $10 and you can order it here

I believed starting an e business would be simple. All I would have to do is buy a domain, make a website, create insteresting content and let the customers flock to me and buy my poems. A business regardless of what it is or where it is requires work and honestly, I think it requires more work, time and devotion to succeed. No, I am not quitting or giving up. I am in the process now of rethinking my approach to the business. One thing I would like to accomplish is re-orginization of the website. It does seem to be a bit all over the place.
I need to create to do lists and actually stick with them. I know I have a good idea, I just got to get the people to come and perhaps one person out of the many that come will buy a poem. Eventhough I owned this domain for a year and the business being in the public’s eye for that long, I now I am still just starting out.
It is time to sit and think long and hard and ask myself do I want Dragonfly Poems to do well? The answer is yes. The next question is, and not exactly as easy to answer, is how to make Dragonfly Poems succeed?

Soft, cresting shadows from the moon
tumble down on the late summer earth
and while I stand here in blue shadows
my mind is elsewhere but my heart is here
with you.
To leave, to stay the answer is simpler,
the problem is not and I just can never leave
deep inside our roots intertwine and join
as one.
This path we find ourselves
is littered with gnarled bark-less roots
seething from the dirt,
and covered holes
Here is where I want to give up,
find a shortcut and walk through the meadows
of flowers and soft waving grass
Instead, I follow you because we are
doing this together and the sun lit shadows
sink further into the forest, the more we travel and
up head there is that meadow
Grab my hand and lets run there, stripping off our clothes
and find our soul’s contentment with each other.

Spitting watermelon seeds then jumping
Under the stars to watch fireflies frolic.
Memories rectify themselves during hot
Months, timeless treasures.
Endless summer love, while rain and thunder collide with one another
Reach for my hand and we are young again, dreaming recycled dreams and diving feet first in cold water .
